ALSD
PARENT VOLUNTEER GROUP
THE LLOYDMINSTER DANCE ACADEMY (LDA)
WHO ARE WE?
Originally formed in 1981 as a parent support group to the Alison Lamont School of Dance, the LDA is a non-profit corporation, incorporated at Saskatchewan Corporate Registry as Entity No.205778

There are several times throughout the dance year that we need volunteers to make things go
more smoothly. Some examples would be helping keep things organized on photo weekend,
supervising kids backstage during a performance or perhaps help transporting a prop.
MANDATE
To foster and support the Art of dance at Alison Lamont School of Dance and within the dance community.
WHAT WE DO?
The LDA parent group fundraises monies to provide our dance families with dance opportunities. In the past, this has mainly been focused on a Production Cruise that occurred approximately every third year and involved only the older students. Going forward, the LDA would like to expand the fundraising of funds to be used for learning activities for dancers of all levels.
HOW WE DO IT?
Every year a Board consisting of no less than 5 people and no more than 8 people is voted in at an Annual General Meeting. We meet a handful of times per year. The focus is organizing the sale DVDs, flowers and keepsake programs at recital to raise funds. In the future, we hope to have more parents involved in new fundraisers to provide our dancers with many more incredible opportunities
